It's Monday again... It's time for Pirate Madeline! Last time on Pirate Madeline! Madeline was fighting with the mysterious Random Everetti, a fight she escalated to a serious level, but one Random easily deflected. But how did Random do such a high level spell without casting? And what will Madeline do now that her opponent is this powerful? Is this the end for Madeline? Is Pokey back in full swing again? Has the good ol days of Madeline returned?! All this and so much more in this week's Pirate Madeline!
Guys thanks for all your support sorry for the long delays I hope you all enjoy the comic! Show your love and comment below! Oh you! (lol See if you can find what I mean)
Sorry to be this late with the comment to another addition of Madeline there Random, don't like taking so long to get back to deviants such as yourself and for that I do apologize. *nods*
Rather like your own comment points out, a good show with taking things to the next level as opposed to playing things out longer they needed to be. Recall you sometimes had a habit to do that and not anything against that but its was smart of you to quickly end the fight or speed it up as introductions are now needed more then the epic brawl to end all brawls, lol.
Once more you show alot of ferocity and energy in the characters both that tailor well to Madeline and with her guns at the ready and that to Random with his extremely fast paced motion with a little Pokey always on his shoulder, well done.
For what really counts here is how well you change the scenery up between a perspective and yet still keep your story and speech going quite fluently. Say your taking some good inspiration from most anime artists who do that very same thing and no matter what its keep your comic and the panels flowing naturally.
More on that mention, nice reaction shot with Madeline coming back from the last panel of the last page. Shaken up, the clouds of dust still in the air and even where you move the angle behind her just to show where her pistols are aiming and fitting in both Random and Pokey into the shot, excellent work lad.
Like before you tune very much into the depth of the movement and reactions in both your lines but especially your coloring and details. The speed lines always hit their mark like on where Random is going into his own charge and even the way the bullets fly by the two as Pokey tries to talk him out of going after Madeline, I love it. ^-^
It all ends up with a baffled Madeline and rather enjoy her outburst and feeling of shock both for being beaten so suddenly and her trying to keep a low profile, its hilarity and action like no other. It perfectly works in that simple shot where you get a proud Random, a questionable Pokey and a confused Madeline all going at each other like any good comic would focus it.
So a pretty damn nice page you managed to render up here Random, the comic keeps continuing to get better and twice as hot as you said it yourself. ^O^
Bravo to you Random and by the way a Merry Christmas to you as well if I don't get the chance to say so tomorrow! *tips hat*
Okay. I put off my critique long enough. Time to give it. *Ahem.*
I hate to say it, but I have to to give a proper critique: You're facing a lot of perspective and depth issues in this page. Namely with the background. in most of the panels.
Panel 1: The pier doesn't appear to be going toward the vanishing point, as it approaches the horizon line, the lines denoting the space between planks would decrease in distance from one another. This doesn't happen here, and throws off the sense of depth and perspective. Panel 2 and 3 have the same problem to a lesser extent, but it's still present.
In regards to mouths. I think you should look into doing more mouth poses. Looking up facial expressions on DA would be a good start.
It would've been better for her right arm in panel 2 to be left undrawn. Also. Her guns don't look like they're pointing at Random.
Good on you for using speed lines to emphasize speed, and good job on the tracer fire on panel 3. Maddie's pose is also good, and good on you for the using Over the Shoulder shots here.
yeah that was awesome! My bro came up with a joke that I plan on using in Ascending or Descending: "How's the weather? Has it cleared?" "Oh yeah, it's so clear, I can even see the clouds." (sarcasm; it's cloudy)
He would like Ame too. I wanted to go back to the original, and from now until like page 60 everything is going to seem very familiar just without the ecchi and with Madeline being more authoritative, also Riona will be standing in for a lot of Captain Skelly's (remember him) parts
